Terms of use

The agreement between you and Linju when you use the Linju app or linju.app. We have kept it plain and fair. Nothing in it takes away your rights under UK consumer law.
In force from 14 October 2026

1. About these terms

These terms are an agreement between you and Future Forge Private Limited, which runs Linju ("Linju", "we", "us"). We are a company registered in England and Wales, company number 15480332, VAT number GB 460 6603 05. Our registered office is 19 Brubeck Way, Glebe Farm, Wavendon, Milton Keynes, England, MK17 8WR. You can email us at [email protected].
These terms apply whenever you use Linju: the Linju app on Android or iOS, and linju.app. If you run a shop on Linju, the Terms for shops also apply to your shop.
When you create your account, we ask you to agree to these terms. We keep a record of the version you agreed to and when you agreed.
Our Privacy notice explains how we use your personal data. It is not part of this agreement, and we do not ask you to agree to it, but please read it.
The app store you download the app from has its own terms for the download. If you downloaded Linju from Apple's App Store, Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies to the app software. Apple and Google are not parties to these terms and are not responsible for Linju.

2. Who can use Linju

You must be 18 or over. Linju is not designed for children.
Linju is for people in the United Kingdom.
You may have one account. It is for you alone: please do not share it or use anyone else's.
The name you give must be your own first name and last initial, and the email address must be yours.
Keep your email and your phone secure. The codes we email you are for you alone; we will never ask you for them.
If you sign in with Google or Apple, keep that account secure too. Google's and Apple's own terms apply to those accounts, and we are not responsible for their services.

3. What Linju does

Linju helps you get to know the independent shops near you. You can use welcome offers when you move into an area, collect stamps and rewards at shops, follow the shops you like, and choose the messages you get from them and from us.
Linju is free for neighbours. We will never charge you without asking you first.
When you buy something from a shop, your contract for it is with that shop, not with Linju. Your consumer rights for what you buy, such as refunds and repairs, are rights against the shop.

4. Welcome offers, stamps and rewards

Shops create their own welcome offers, stamp cards and rewards. The shop that shows an offer or reward is responsible for it and for honouring it on the terms shown in Linju.
A welcome offer is for people who moved into the area in the last year, as you tell us. Each shop's welcome offer can be used once per person, and once per mailbox: email addresses that reach the same inbox count as one.
You get a stamp when the shop scans your code at a visit. A reward is ready when the card is full, and the shop gives it to you.
Stamps, rewards and offers have no cash value. They cannot be sold, transferred or swapped for money.
A shop can change or end its offers and stamp card. If a shop leaves Linju, rewards you have not claimed there may end with it, so please claim rewards when they are ready.
Your code in Linju keeps changing, so a copy or a screenshot of it stops working. Do not copy, share or misuse codes, create extra accounts, or take part in false visits. We may remove stamps, rewards or offers obtained that way.
If a shop does not honour an offer or reward shown in Linju, please tell us using "Report this page" or "Report a concern". We will look into it and act on the shop's listing.

5. Messages

You choose what you hear about. Following a shop lets it send you its news and offers through Linju. You can also choose the weekly digest by email and reminders about your stamp cards. You can stop any of these at any time, in the app or from the message itself.
We also send messages you need to use Linju, such as sign-in codes and messages about your account or your safety. These are not marketing.

6. Using Linju fairly

Please use Linju lawfully and with respect for others. We have no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behaviour. You must not:
break the law, or help anyone else to;
harass, threaten or deceive anyone, or pretend to be someone else;
post or send anything illegal, harmful, hateful, abusive, threatening, discriminatory, sexual, violent or otherwise objectionable;
try to get into another person's account or data;
copy, scrape or collect information from Linju with automated tools;
interfere with, overload, test the security of, or reverse engineer Linju, except as the law allows;
use your personal account to run a business on Linju (shops have their own accounts and terms).
If you do, we may remove what you posted and suspend or close your account (section 8).

7. Content and keeping Linju safe

Shops publish their own pages, photos, offers and updates. We check each shop before its page goes live, but we do not check everything shops publish before it appears.
You can stop any shop's messages at any time by unfollowing it: on its page, in your notification settings, or from its message in your notifications.
Anyone can report something on Linju, signed in or not: use "Report this page" or "Report this update", or "Report a concern" on linju.app and in About Linju. We review reports in order, normally within 2 working days, and act on illegal content as soon as we know about it. The shop is never told who made a report.
We use technology to help keep Linju safe. Every photo uploaded to Linju is checked by an image classifier that runs on our own servers, and a photo it flags waits for a person at Linju before it can appear. Words in shops' pages and offers are checked against our rules when they are saved, and wording that describes a prize draw or chance is refused. A person at Linju, not a machine, decides to remove content or close an account.
If we remove a shop's content, we tell the shop why, and the shop can appeal once. If you are unhappy with how we handled a report or with our safety tools, use "Report a concern" or email [email protected].
We report child sexual abuse material to the National Crime Agency, as the law requires.

8. Your account, and suspending or closing it

You can delete your account at any time, in the app from Profile or at linju.app/delete-account.
We may suspend or close your account if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, if the law requires it, or if it is needed to protect other people or Linju from fraud or harm. We will tell you why and give you the chance to respond, unless the law or someone's safety prevents it.
While your account is suspended, or after we close it, you may not open another Linju account. If you delete your account while it is suspended, we will not open a new account on the same email address, or on another address that reaches the same inbox, until the suspension ends.
If we stop providing Linju, or a part of it, we will give you reasonable notice, at least 30 days where we can.

9. Changes to Linju and to these terms

We keep improving Linju, so features may change. We provide Linju with reasonable care and skill, but because it is a free service we cannot promise that it will always be available or free of faults.
If we change these terms in a way that matters to you, we will tell you at least 30 days before the change, by email or in the app, and ask you to accept the new terms. If you do not want to accept them, you can delete your account. Changes that only make the terms clearer, or that the law requires at short notice, apply when we publish them.

10. Our responsibility to you

If we break these terms or fail to use reasonable care and skill, we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result. Loss is foreseeable if it is obvious that it will happen, or if you and we both knew it might happen when you agreed to these terms.
Linju is for your personal use. We are not responsible for any business loss, such as lost profit or lost business opportunity.
We are not responsible for the goods or services shops sell, or for a shop that does not honour an offer or reward, although we will act on reports about it. We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control.
Because Linju is free for neighbours, our total responsibility to you for all claims is limited to £100.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit or exclude. Nothing in these terms affects your legal rights as a consumer.

11. Problems and complaints

If something goes wrong, please tell us at [email protected]. We will reply within 5 working days and aim to resolve your complaint within 30 days.
For anything about your personal data, use "Contact us about your data" in the app or on linju.app. The Privacy notice explains how we handle those requests and how to complain to the Information Commission.

12. General

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. You can bring a claim in the courts of England and Wales; if you live in Scotland you can also bring it in the Scottish courts, and if you live in Northern Ireland in the courts of Northern Ireland.
If a court decides that part of these terms is not valid, the rest still applies.
We may transfer this agreement to another organisation, for example if Linju is sold. We will tell you, and your rights under these terms will not be reduced; if you are unhappy you can delete your account. You may not transfer your account or this agreement.
No one else has rights under these terms.
If we do not insist straight away that you do something you are required to do, we can still insist on it later.
You can ask us for any earlier version of these terms at [email protected].
